Agora The agora was a central public space in ancient Greek city states. The meaning of “agora” is “ gathering place ” or “ assembly ”. It was applied by the classical Greeks of the 5th century BCE to what they regarded as a typical feature of their life. The agora was located either in the middle of the city or near the harbor. It’s seen as an idealized form of public space where citizens come together to haggle and discuss politics. The social value of agora is it gathers every people where people discuss about the various activities of citizen. Agoras were built of colonnades , rows of long columns , and contained stoat which were beautifully decorated with fountains , trees , and statues .
