                          Landscape Architecture
Landscape architecture is best understood by the profession as achieving a balance between the built and natural environments or people and places.
Landscape architects design gardens, public parks, playgrounds, residential areas, college campuses, shopping centers, golf courses, and parkways so that they are not only functional but also beautiful and harmonious with the nature.

 Role of Landscape Architects:

  • Landscape architects aim to improve the quality of the environment by designing and managing the open spaces around us. 
  • They work to improve human and environmental health in all communities. They plan and design parks, campuses, streetscapes, trails, plazas, residences, and other projects that strengthen communities.
  •  They confer with clients, engineering personnel, or architects on landscape projects.
  • They prepare site plans, specifications, or cost estimates for land development.
  • Landscape Architects develop marketing materials, proposals, or presentation to generate new work opportunities.


Landscape Architects & their relation with Architects

  • Landscape architects produce plans for the outdoor areas around structures while Architects design structures such as houses or office buildings.
  • Architecture and landscape architecture pursue the same aim: to provide mankind with diversified indoor or open spaces while addressing functionality and harmony.
  • Architects and landscape architects both work together to create stunning, sustainable areas that “carefully respond to the diversity of natural and human ecology which is composed of climate, topography, history, culture, and social phenomenon.”
  • Landscape architects inspires architects not only to design but also to regard the natural initial elements of the site, as well as the long-term changes and the impact on the urban context.

Nepal’s First Architect   Ar.Gangadhar Bhatta ‘Haluwe’    ● Gangadhar was Born on 30th April 1936.                                          Rastrapati Bhawan   ( Shital Niwas ) Architect : Kumar Narsingh Rana, Kishor Narsingh Rana   Kumar Narsingh Rana  was the first Nepalese to qualify as a Civil Engineer. He completed his education from Thomason Civil Engineering Col l, Roorkee, India. Kumar Narsingh together with his architect brother had designed and supervised the construction of Singha Durbar in 1907.
